Designed by Japanese studio Nendo, Skelton is a cutlery set created for “the cutlery project”, a collection for the Belgian furniture and home accessories brand Valerie Objects.

The cutlery has been reduced to the absolute minimum, limiting the amount of material used whilst still retaining its functionality, left remaining is the outline of the cutlery like the image of a skeleton reflected in an X-ray.
It can be hooked and stored in various places in the kitchen and the teaspoon can be hooked onto the rim of the cup. There are four items, a spoon, fork, knife, and teaspoon, the set also has a dedicated stand and wall hook to display the set.

The cutlery is PVD coated in four different colours, silver, black, copper and gold to provide an anti-scratch and dirt-repellent surface.

Industrial designer Ben Palmer created the Xuxu Chair, a beautiful minimal chair that explores furniture design in a deconstructive and minimalist sense. This work seeks to make something unique and different in an area that is overrun with continually “new” designs.

Shield is a new series of lamps by Kutarq Studio created for Millelumen Germany. Inspired by the shields of the Maasai from Tanzania, consistent reduction, clear geometry and clean shapes are the design principles behind the Shield luminaires. The lamp consists of two main parts: an opalescent diffuser (which is exchangeable and can be set up fast and easy), and a white-painted aluminum structural chassis. The shades are not opaque, but semi-translucent, creating an attractive aura and a pleasant atmosphere as a harmonious light falls upon the wall or ceiling. They are made in three different forms: round, oval and eye-shaped. The Shield series are available as a wall, ceiling, pendant or floor lamp, and are all dimmable.

Current and connection are the main themes of the interior design of Proti Proudu Bistro in Prague district Karlín. Inspiration by František Křižík, the Karlín-born electrical engineering inovator, merged with the idea of connecting through good coffee and delicious food. The main bar wall, made of white perforated plywood, creates a grid, which all the components on the wall connect to – from the sliding targets of wires to the paper roll with daily menu. Network of wires, stretching from the switches behind the counter to the lights above the tables, draws attention to the connection between staff and guests.

Each of the lights is operated separately, location of the switches on the wall grid reflects the real position of the lights in the room. The lights turn on and off as guests come and go. Every time the door opens, it lights a new spark in the bistro.

Plywood texture softly reflects stone floor pattern, as well as the oak board of the counter and individual tables. Steel elements preserve their unrefined black iron character. The only exception is the rusty counter with the motto that will never rust: “In Coffee We Trust”.
