Derin collection’s characteristics are founded on simplicity with well-defined lines, giving a sense of movement that integrates modern and fast urban lifestyles – suitable for both home and office environments. Derin collection’s strategic philosophy is quite clear in that all the products in the collection share the same characteristics and spirit. However, each design can stand on its own and do not necessarily have to be evaluated as a series or group. Observing the designs within the collection, it must be clear that the essence of these designs reflect the period they were created in. Derin places an emphasis on developing new designs every year and strives to develop and grow based on the market demands to keep the brand on the forefront of the international scene.

Javier Mariscal is a Valencian Spanish artist and designer whose work has spanned a wide range of mediums, ranging from painting and sculpture to interior design and landscaping. He was born in February 1950 in the city of Valencia, Spain, into a family of eleven brothers and sisters. Since 1970, he has been living and working in Barcelona. His language is synthetic, with few strokes and a great deal of expressiveness. He started studying design at the Elisava School in Barcelona which he soon left so that he could learn directly in his environment and follow his own creative impulses. His first steps were in the world of underground comic, a task that he soon combined with illustration, sculpture, graphic design and interior design.

Designed by Herzog & Meuron, Prada’s Tokyo “epicenter”, in the fashionable Aoyama district, is the company’s second radical approach to fashion-store architecture, following Rem Koolhaas’ flagship store in New York. The intent is “to reshape both the concept and function of shopping, pleasure and communication, to encourage the meshing of consumption and culture.”

The Tokyo store is a strikingly unconventional 6-story glass crystal that is soft despite its sharp angles – as a result of its five-sided shape, the smooth curves throughout its interior, and its signature diamond-shaped glass panes, which vary between flat, concave and convex “bubbles”.
